The physical standards prescribed for the post of constable are –

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Those who qualify PST will be called for PET- Race will be conducted under PET
|Male||5 km run to be completed within 24 minutes|
|female||1.6 kilometer run to be completed in 8.30 minutes|
Those candidates who qualify PST/PET/Documentation will face trade test. Each candidate will be allowed to appear in only one trade test as entered in the application form.

The exam pattern for Constable (Tradesmen) written exam is as follows:-
The written test will be conducted on the basis of OMR.
time period will be 02:00 hours (120 minutes).
written test will be 100 Marks/Question. Each part will be of 25 marks/ questions.
The cut off marks for the written test will be 35% For General and Ex-Servicemen and 33% For SC/ ST/ OBC candidates.
The questions will be set in both Hindi and English. Candidates will have the option to answer in Hindi or in English.
Given below is the exam syllabus for Constable (Tradesmen) written exam:-
General Awareness / General Knowledge: History, Geography and Socio-Economic Development of Himachal Pradesh. Knowledge of contemporary events of national and international importance and such things of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as can be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The paper will also include questions on Modern History of India (since 1857), Indian Culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India.
Knowledge of Elementary Mathematics: The Test of Arithmetic and Numerical Ability will include Simplification, Decimal, Fraction, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Ratio, Percentage, Average, Profit and Loss, Discount, Simple and Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time and Work, Number System with Questions on Time . and distances, tables and graphs, etc.
Analytical aptitude and ability to observe specific patterns , It will include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. Questions will be asked from Similarities, Similarities and Differences, Problem Solving, Relationships, Arithmetic Calculations and other Analytical Functions, Venn Diagrams, Relationship Concepts and Ability to See and Distinguish Patterns, etc.
General Hindi/English: Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, their basic comprehension and writing ability etc. will be tested. Questions will be asked from error recognition, filling in the blanks (using verbs, prepositions, articles etc.), vocabulary, spelling, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, idiomatic use of phrases and words, etc.
